{my daily makeup}

These are my daily makeup products, not that I use each one every day, but in general... These are what I've been using lately... my spring stuff.

1. I generally use a tinted moisturizer: Arbonne sheer finish tinted moisturizer with spf 15: Fair

*Sometimes, if I'm wearing little makeup I'll blend some highlighter in with my tinted moisturizer for a little extra glow: Arbonne Sheer Glow Highlighter

   -you can find both of these at http://SarahBeth.MyArbonne.com

2. Under my eyes, it takes away any darkness so easily: MAC prep + prime highlighter: light boost

3. For any imperfections, and I always use a little concealer around my nose, chin, and between my brows; genetically for women they tend to get pink throughout the day: MAC pro longwear concealer: NW20

4. I dab a little of this baby on each of my cheeks-right on the apple then use my fingers to blend it in, not nearly as dark/bright as it is in the packaging, just fresh flush: Tarte Natural Cheek Stain: Natural Beauty

5. Bronzer, just a bit under my cheekbones, around my hairline, and under my jawline, and on my chest if I'm wearing a lower shirt... and maybe a tad on my shoulders if I'm going sleeveless: Sephora sun disk bronzing powder: aruba

6. Highlighter, just a dab on each cheekbone and straight down the nose: MAC cream colour base: Shell (I use pearl in the bronzerless months)

7. To seal in my highlighter, just brush it over the top, the most beautiful color: MAC mineralize skinfinish: porcelain pink

8. Brows, this is amazing, practically water-proof stays on all day and almost doubles as a brow wax: MAC paintpot: Groundwork, for darker hair use Quite Natural

9. Lash curler, you should use one. always. period. This one is from Sephora

10. This mascara is when I want some serious lashes, it literally feels like I have fake ones on right after I finish. Twist of the pink end first and get a nice, even coat on all {top & bottom} lashes, then go in with the purple top and get a second layer on the top... it's amazing: MAC haute & naughty lash

11. Waterproof mascara, for days {like my bro's wedding on saturday} when you know you're going to cry like a baby. Or just going somewhere splashing might happen... DiorShow blackout waterproof

12. Every day mascara, good in one coat, doesn't require a lot of fuss: MAC Opulash: Bad, bad black

13. My summer blush, peachy pink: MAC: Fleur Power

My most used shadows in the summer...
a: MAC: Satin Taupe, nice for a soft line, crease, or underneath, soft with a shimmer
b: MAC: Shale, a nudish purple, I use this on almost all of my brides, has enough color that it's not flat
c: MAC: Blanc Type, nice pale base
d: Stila: Kitten, such a pretty, super shimmery color
e: MAC: Wedge: my go-to soft crease color. Enough to add a little shadow without being the slightest bit dark
f: MAC: Retrospeck: a nice shimmer for the inner corners, or whole lid... not really gold or silver, goes with everything.

**You can find any of the MAC products at a MAC store or www.mac.com and the Dior, Stila, Tarte & Sephora at a Sephora store or www.sephora.com

And, that's my basic routine... And unless I'm doing a bold lip, I usually just go with a SPF 15 lip balm in all of spring & summer.

{brides from my past}

As my first actual blog post, I'm going back in time to: brides of my past. All of the following brides are also dear friends of mine, and I was fortunate enough to have the honor of doing their hair and makeup for their weddings, I love each of these girls so much!!.

First: My very best friend, my other soulmate: Dani. She got married on March 2011 in Nashville. She's going to kill me for one of the shots, but I just love it, it's so fun, funny, and she really does look beautiful!! {Sorry Deejer!}

This was my best friend in elementary school, Michelle. We were also the only members of a very exclusive book club... very very secretive. She got married at the Elms Resort, just out of Kansas City.

Then there's Ankita, t-r-o-u-b-l-e. She had an absolutely beautiful Indian wedding in Overland Park, there was lots of craziness {it was my first Indian wedding... if you've been you understand}, but it was amazing. Rock Chalk.

And the gorgeous Danice, we danced together as young kids, and she was my dance team coach in High School. She got married on New Years Eve, also her 30th birthday. Her & Ryan looked like they had a blast!! The ultimate New Years Wedding!

More brides to come soon!! 'Tis the season!!!

AND  my brother is getting married on Saturday!!!!

**I can go through and list the colors used, to the best of my memory, if anyone would like! Just leave a comment and let me know which bride you'd like the specifics on.

{prologue}

Hello world!! My name is Sarah and this is my attempt to join the world of beauty blogging.

French Lacing: A silly name I learned in cosmetology school that stuck with me... a different term for back-combing, teasing, or {so sick} ratting... much more glamorous, no?

I have been a professional hairstylist/makeup artist since 2005, and over time I've learned several little tricks and tips, that I would love to share with the world!! I work at a salon in downtown Kansas City, Missouri where I do all things hair salon: cutting, styling, coloring, waxing, and makeup!

**Please leave me comments if you'd like for me to feature anything in particular... I will do my best to do so!

{side note... I will do my best to display only photos that I have done the styling, hair, makeup, etc... and keep the photographer's credit on the photo, I will say if the work wasn't done by me!}
